We extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you. NUA has been a cornerstone of the Tower Hamlets community, serving the diverse population of Poplar and Isle of Dogs since 2005. We're not just an educational institution; we're a thriving hub that caters to the spiritual, educational, and communal needs of our community. As we have grown, we've expanded our reach globally, now offering online programs to serve people from all corners of the world.

Our Vision and Mission

Our vision is to create a holistic platform that unites Muslims in Tower Hamlets, fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and progress. NUA's mission is twofold: to address the current needs of our community while planning for a future that is progressive, and impactful.

With a focus on nurturing local talent and addressing local challenges, our directors, trustees, and members are all rooted in Tower Hamlets. Our collaboration with local Imams, scholars, and teachers enhances our ability to connect with students and parents on a deeper level, building a harmonious and supportive community.

 
History of NUA

NUA's journey began as a humble evening hifz class named Noor-Ud-Deen Tahfeez-ul-Qura'n at Burdett Estate Masjid in 2005. With only 9 students initially, we quickly expanded to 13, followed by a waiting list of 14 more students within a month. Over time, NUA flourished, offering a range of Islamic educational projects, including maktab, Hifz classes, part-time alimah courses, and adult classes, all aimed at enriching the lives of our community members.

Recognizing the need to consolidate our efforts and provide stability to our various projects, we are on a mission to secure a permanent building, a place that will serve as the nucleus of our diverse initiatives and allow us to cater to the needs of our community even more effectively.

Engaging Beyond Education

NUA isn't limited to educational endeavors alone. We've established ourselves as a catalyst for positive change, housing a variety of subsidiary projects under our roof. From a Halal Marriage Agency to youth programs and non-profit ventures, our reach extends far beyond the classroom.

Our operations are powered by the generosity of donations and funds generated through our services, with many of our dedicated staff members serving as volunteers.
